Niðavellir Shipyard

The Nidavellir Shipyard is a large UCM Shipyard hidden far away from any planetary system.
After the scattering of humans after the first Scourge attack many ships used their ftl drives and made an random Foldspace jump just to get away. Many of this ships found themselves alone in the dark, to close to a star or a black hole and perished but some made it to an empty place in space. And that’s how the Nidavellir belt was discovered. A collection of large rocks, asteroids in different sizes and collection of dust and sand. Exactly how this place come to be, far from any sun, placed in between systems is not known. It is believed it was created after an extremely unlikely collision of two larger celestial body, with no stronger gravity pull in the vicinity this collection of minerals and rocks have held together by their own combined pull of each other. The scatter of large rocks and the natural background radioactivity have created a hiding place. After the survivors made contact with the now formed UCM the area have been put to good use.

Named after the Norse mythology Nidavellir, the world of the dwarves, for its rich mineral and metal resources. Perfectly for foundries and a large shipyard complex.

Kalmar class missile cruiser

The Kalmar class missile cruiser is a experimental cruiser class. Its a homemade ship class from the Nidavellir Shipyards packed full with missiles. Some extra stowage areas for extra missiles were added around the engine areas that is fully armoured.

A missile cruiser is a close combat ship, able to entering into close quarters with all its missiles or holding back and threatening any enemy ship trying to enter your lines as a counter charge ship.
But she lacks longer range guns making her a very situational ship. She is a experimental ship and we will see if the High Command will give her the green light for mass production.

The ship is homemade and I added some bits from the Resistance ships and some other bits I had to make her.

The Kalmar class missile cruiser are seen here together with the Helsingborg class armoured transport, supplying her with more missiles for weapons testing.
One of the criticism of the Kalmar class missiles cruiser is the lack of sustainability in a engagement. When her missiles are shot she will need rearmament from a transportation ship with new missiles.

Helsingborg class armed transport ship

The Helsingborg class armed transport is a UCM ship armoured to the level of first class combat ships. It is used as a transport that can take a beating, to get the troops or materiel into or from the hart of battle.
It is intended for deep space transportation and its main drawback is its lack of atmospheric abilities.

The Helsingborg class armed transport is a home-made ship made from leftover bits and plasticard. It was a fun to build and to paint.
It doesnt have any gaming rules but wound be easy to get her some if she ever sees the gaming table, guessing she will be similar statwise to the San Francisco class troopship.
