Niðavellir Shipyard

The Nidavellir Shipyard is a large UCM Shipyard hidden far away from any planetary system.
After the scattering of humans after the first Scourge attack many ships used their ftl drives and made an random Foldspace jump just to get away. Many of this ships found themselves alone in the dark, to close to a star or a black hole and perished but some made it to an empty place in space. And that’s how the Nidavellir belt was discovered. A collection of large rocks, asteroids in different sizes and collection of dust and sand. Exactly how this place come to be, far from any sun, placed in between systems is not known. It is believed it was created after an extremely unlikely collision of two larger celestial body, with no stronger gravity pull in the vicinity this collection of minerals and rocks have held together by their own combined pull of each other. The scatter of large rocks and the natural background radioactivity have created a hiding place. After the survivors made contact with the now formed UCM the area have been put to good use.

Named after the Norse mythology Nidavellir, the world of the dwarves, for its rich mineral and metal resources. Perfectly for foundries and a large shipyard complex.

This is the place to produce ships...

Triumvir Repair cruiser

Just a heads up/ warning, this post will be a picture spam because I really really liked to paint this ship.

Triumvir Repair cruiser

The Triumvir has been one of the most valued ships to the Resistance since escaping the Scourge invasion. Shipyards mostly being a lost luxury, any repairs had to be run in the void with the help of other ships - the Triumvir’s specialty. Though a military vessel with fighting armour and battlecruiser tonnage, most of its superstructure is dominated by an insectile bank of extending service armatures. Long-term, Triumvirs can run complex repairs that take weeks. In battle they inject expanding, rapid-cure polymer foam into hull breaches, armour cracks and voided areas, keeping a ship in the fight longer. Despite their value beyond the battlespace, many Resistance admirals gladly risk fielding Triumvirs for the sake of the greater good. To support its activities, the Triumvir has a large internal hangar for various service craft from shuttles to engineering barges. Triumvirs that go to battle tend to replace some of these with regular fighters and bombers to add offensive and escort capability.

When TT Combat released the Triumvir and I read the fluff behind it I just had to get it... Im just a sucker for engineering or "special" vehicles.
So what we got here is a large ship that can make emergency battlefield repairs on nearby ships.

Do I have a Resistance fleet to add this ship to you might wonder?
No no silly people, but If I continues to add fun ships to my collection I think I might end up with one...
At least I have decided on a colour scheme for an eventual future Resistance fleet.

It was a really fun ship to paint and add all the grittynes, she is a dirty girl...

I know that you really shouldn't take close up pictures of a miniatures that should bee seen from across a table but I spent some time on small details, paint chipping, streaks and other effects to make it look as it been through some time.

She can here be seen escorted by a Cruiser ( more pictures of the Cruiser can be seen here )

I painted the engine exhaust, windows and lights and such as with flourecent colours from Vallejo just because its so fun to take these pictures under an UV light...
And you never know... One day you might play an battle under a UV light, that could be really fun to see.

Sorry, not sorry for the picture spamming...// Eng
